2016 Shanghai Private Fund and Real Estate Opportunities Forum
Thank you for making The China Investor’s 2016 Private Fund & Real Estate Opportunities Forum a success!
The China Investor successfully launched its international real estate education conference series on November 15 & 16 in Shanghai with the 2016 Private Fund & Real Estate Opportunities Forum. This sold-out educational and networking event welcomed more than 400 attendees, including Chinese wealth managers, family offices, institutional investment companies, U.S. developers, and industry professionals.
Set at the five-star Jing-An Shangri-La in West Shanghai, China, the cross-cultural Forum kicked off with a networking event on the evening of November 15. Attendees gathered for informal discussions and began building partnerships that only strengthened over the course of the event.
Day two was filled with expert real estate investment insight, with more than 40 speakers sharing their knowledge via a series of moderated panels. Topics covered included: “Where to Invest? Traditional Real Estate Markets vs. Up-and-Coming Markets,” Direct vs. Indirect Real Estate Investment & Portfolio Diversification,” “What Lies Ahead? A Look at Commercial Real Estate in the U.S. Over the Next Five Years,” and more.
We are honored to have had Siva Yam and Stephen Rosenberg as the Forum’s keynote speakers. Yam is President of the U.S.- China Chamber of Commerce – an organization dedicated to developing increased U.S.-China trade and investment activities, and Rosenberg founded Greystone – a preeminent real estate lending, investment and advisory firm. They delivered their keynote speeches to a full house over lunch in the Jing’an Ballroom, addressing key trends in the U.S. real estate investment process.
With scheduled networking breaks throughout the day, attendees had ample opportunity to interact, review, and learn more aboutevent sponsors and the many participating companies. The Forum concluded with a dinner reception complete with entertainment, where guests exchanged current market information and built lasting relationships.
The China Investor is devoted to educating and connecting Chinese institutional investors and financial institutions to global real estate opportunities through events such as the 2016 Private Fund & Real Estate Opportunities Forum. We are pleased to see so much interaction between Chinese family offices and funds with the developers. We hope to announce our next event for 2017 very soon.
