He also served as a market manager for the New Zealand High Commission in Apia, Samoa.

Jovanovic has a bachelor’s degree in biomedical/animal technology and a master’s in business administration. He has also completed a graduate diploma in New Zealand immigration advice.

In addition to English, Jovanovic speaks Serbian and other ex-Yugoslavian languages.
