Gary K. Sumihiro, an international and domestic management consultant, has more than 25 years of experience in government affairs and public policy in the United States and internationally. Sumihiro founded his own consulting firm, Sumihiro Investments, LLC in Denver, Colo., in 2008.

Involved with legislative activities on the state, federal, and international level, Sumihiro has brokered numerous government-to-government deals. In addition to government affairs, he specializes in global investments and consulting services covering fundraising, sales and marketing, start-ups, crisis management, restructuring, and operations.

Sumihiro’s career has progressed from attorney to general counsel to chief operating officer to president and member of the board of directors of large public and private corporations. He has done business in several countries, including Hungary, Mexico, Japan and China.

Sumihiro has led small, medium, and billion-dollar global companies with a workforce ranging from 40 to more than 1,000, and he’s handled projects ranging from $10 million to $250 million. His clients vary from clean energy companies to international technology development businesses.

Sumihiro’s past and current professional affiliations include: the American Bar Association, Corporate and International Law Divisions; Ohio Bar Association; World Federation of Direct Selling; U.S. Chamber of Commerce, American Chambers of Commerce in Japan and Korea; Japan Society; Korea Society; and Japan Chamber of Commerce.

Sumihiro earned a Juris Doctor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law and a master’s degree in public administration at American University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and government at Thiel College. He speaks English and Japanese.
