Valentine Hoy is a real estate attorney and partner at Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP. A partner in the firm’s San Diego office, Hoy advises businesses, private investors, real estate developers, licensed professionals, and builders on legal matters. Licensed by the State Bar of California, Hoy represents clients before courts, juries, and arbitrators across the state in a wide range of cases, including commercial landlord-tenant and construction disputes, real estate consumer mass tort, class action, and homeowner association lawsuits, business contracts and tort litigation, co-investor disputes and nondisclosure claims.

Hoy’s additional litigation experience includes cases involving defamation, malicious prosecution, investor and partnership litigation, tax litigation, antitrust, director’s liability, securities fraud, trade secret, interference torts, fraud and misrepresentation, employment litigation, and the professional liability of lawyers, securities brokers, real estate brokers and engineers.

Hoy has worked for Allen Matkins for more than eight years, joining the firm in 2009. Previously, he worked for Luce Forward law firm, also in San Diego, for more than 23 years.

Hoy is a member of the American Business Trial Lawyers Association, Louis M. Welsh Chapter of the American Inns of Court, and San Diego County Bar Association. Hoy has been named Best Lawyers' San Diego Litigation Lawyer of the Year in the construction and real estate categories for several years. He was been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the fields of Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Litigation - Construction and Litigation - Real Estate for more than 10 years.

Hoy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics at Occidental College in Los Angeles. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Davis - School of Law.
