Barry Wen is a tax advisor and shareholder with Burr, Pilger & Mayer LLP (BPM), working in San Jose, Ca. A certified public accountant (CPA), Wen has 18 years of public accounting experience specializing in business and high net worth individual tax planning, consulting and compliance for various domestic and international tax related matters.

Wen advises clients on start-up funding, operational tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border issues. He represents clients in various industries, including technology, real estate, manufacturing, distribution, and clean energy. His clients also include business founders and executives, investors, and multi-national families.

Before joining BPM in 2006 as a tax manager, Wen worked as a tax associate for six years with San Jose-based Brach, Neal, Daney & Spence LLP, which subsequently merged with BPM.

Wen is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), California Society of CPAs (CalCPA), CalCPA Silicon Valley/San Jose Chapter, and CalCPA Asia Business Forum Planning Committee. He is also the chief financial officer (CFO) of China Silicon Valley, a California-based nonprofit organization that promotes investments, communication, and cooperation among businesses in China and Silicon Valley.

Wen earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in psychology at Peking University (Beijing, China) and a master’s degree in business taxation at the University of Southern California – Marshall School of Business. He enrolled in the Ph.D. program in organizational studies at Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management in Nashville, Tenn. Wen speaks English and Chinese.
