Chris Marlin is the founder and president of Lennar International, a division of Lennar Corporation, one of the largest homebuilders in the United States. Based in Miami, Fla., Lennar International facilitates foreign direct investment in Lennar’s U.S. real estate platform by matching foreign capital with the company’s real estate interests, including project-level debt and equity and asset dispositions.
Marlin focuses on global real estate sales and capital sourcing, specializes in connecting Chinese and U.S. real estate interests and has facilitated investments representing more than $7 billion in development between the two countries.
Previously, he served as vice president and counsel at Lennar Corporation. He also worked as an attorney at the international law firms Holland and Knight and Foley and Lardner.
Marlin is a member of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE), and the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), a global network of chief executives. He is a leading commentator on cross border investments between the U.S. and Asia, Latin America, and Europe, and he has been a featured speaker at several global forums.
Marlin holds a law degree from Emory University Law School, where he was active in the Conflict Resolution Program at the Carter Presidential Center in Atlanta. He earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in political science at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. He has also served as an adjunct professor of constitutional law there.
