Wayne Pisani is a Malta individual investor program agent based in Birkirkara, Malta. He is a partner with Grant Thornton, where as a member of its corporate and financial services team, he works on asset protection as well as cross-border regulatory and tax planning engagements. His clients have included family offices, high net worth individuals and NASDAQ-listed companies.

Pisani also works on legal and tax implications regarding the structuring of financial institutions, both local and international, as well as mergers and acquisitions and project finance transactions. He has been with Grant Thornton since 2007.

Prior to that, Pisani worked at other firms, including Lofaro & Tanti-Dougall. From 1999 to 2007 he consulted and was a senior associate specializing in antitrust, civil, commercial, banking and securities laws, and the representation of foreign interests in Malta, primarily ones from Europe and North Africa.

Pisani earned his bachelor’s degree in law and international relations from the University of Malta in 1998. He also earned a doctor of law (LL.D.) and master’s degree in financial services, banking, insurance, securities and trust from the university.

Pisani is a regular contributor to the financial technology world and a contributing author to "European Competition Laws: A Guide to the EC and its Member States, the leading legal compendium with respect to Competition law in Europe," which is published by LexisNexis and revised annually.

Pisani currently serves as council president for the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners in Malta and is a council member for the Malta Institute of Management. He is also a member of the International Fiscal Association, the International Bar Association and Malta’s Chamber of Advocates.
