Ecem Kumsal Başyurt is a Turkish attorney. She currently manages her own legal practice, Basyurt Law Firm, based in Izmir, Turkey.

Başyurt specializes in legal matters on data protection, human rights, investment management, lease negotiation, compliance and litigation. Her firm assists domestic and international clients in mergers and acquisitions, structured corporate transactions and corporate management. She also has experience in litigation, representing clients in commercial and labor law-related disputes and preparing court documents. Başyurt currently also serves as an executive consultant at Mazhar Zorlu Holding based in Izmir, where she advises the board members of the company on multinational investments, reviews contracts and agreements, and represents the company in disputes and lawsuits.

Prior to establishing her own legal practice, Başyurt served as a trainee lawyer at Moral & Partners, where she drafted legal documents and advised clients on daily management and commercial activities.

Başyurt holds a law degree from the Izmir University of Economics, and is currently working on her master’s degree in EU law. Başyurt speaks Turkish and English.
