Gerald Rokoff is a tax advisor with over 35 years of experience in international and United States taxation. In his role as co-chair and partner of the Transactional Tax Practice at multinational law firm DLA Piper, he strives to provide the best possible financial benefits and tax treatments for his clients.

Rokoff has a vast amount of experience in advising clients seeking to implement tax-efficient practices, including investors, fund sponsors and investment advisors. He also has in-depth knowledge of structuring investments for international investors who operate across various asset classes, including real estate, debt/equity and alternative investments.

Though DLA Piper’s Insurance Practice, Rokoff offers guidance to various insurance companies, advising them of tax considerations of insurance-related transactions. These include funds with insurance-linked securities, sidecar investments, investments from segregated portfolio companies, reserve financing, captive insurance and catastrophe bonds, among many others. He has also advised public and private insurance companies in the casualty, life and property sectors, offering guidance on the efficient structuring of M&A, as well as financings.

Rokoff also offers counsel to managers of private equity funds and regulated investment companies active in the insurance sector on general operations and investments.
