Matthew Cassar is a Malta Individual Investor Program (MIIP) agent. He is currently at his own private practice, Advocate, based in Malta.

Cassar’s main areas of specialization are residency, citizenship and property law. He is a registered accredited agent for MIIP and the Malta Residency and Visa Program.

For his property law practice, Cassar is contracted with a large commercial Maltese bank to vet clients who are interested in taking out loans for immovable property.

Cassar worked for more than 10 years for the Maltese government Lands Authority, eventually becoming a senior professional officer. He worked on verifying ownership titles for property, claims of ownership over government-owned property, analyzing contracts and training of new staff, among other duties.

He has also worked as a tour guide for foreign students and planned leisure activities.

Cassar has a bachelor’s degree in legal and humanities studies and a LL.D. from the University of Malta. His doctorate thesis was titled, “A Landowner’s Interests in the Temporary Concession of his Property.” Cassar also has a certificate in trust law and administration from the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners. While in law school, he was a member of the European Law Students’ Association.

Cassar was admitted to the bar in 2006 and is a notary public. He has completed internships in Malta and Italy.

Cassar speaks Maltese, English and Italian, as well as some French.
