Steve Park is a securities attorney who works as a partner at Ballard Spahr, LLP, a leading law firm located in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, he serves on several of the firm’s practices including Business and Finance, Securities, M&A/Private Equity and the Korea Initiative.

Park focuses on corporate, securities and finance law, with his expertise covering mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate governance, securities offerings (both public and private), commercial loans (with a focus in the automotive industry) as well as compliance with the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Park also has experience in advising issuers and lenders on corporate finance matters such as syndicated loans, asset-based lending, debt offerings (public and private), acquisition financing, tranches and much more.

Park offers counsel to manufacturing companies based in Korea on matters including incentive contracts, corporate governance, business organization and financial transactions. He has also assisted such companies on corporate and securities matters, ensuring they follow the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) and SEC regulations. Park has represented hedge and private equity funds in cases involving general operations, formation and investments, including Section 16 and Section 13 compliance.

Park earned his Bachelor’s degree in philosophy at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He then obtained his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Illinois College of Law, graduating cum laude. While studying at the University of Illinois, he worked as the associate editor of the Journal of Law, Technology and Policy. For his work, Park was granted the Rickert Award for Excellence in Legal Publication and a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in International Business and Administrative Law Transaction. In 2015, Park was selected as one of the top EB-5 corporate and securities attorneys in the United States by EB5 Investors Magazine. He has also been sought out for professional speaking engagements; his experience includes acting as the CLE speaker at the 20th Annual Conference of the International Association of Korean Lawyers and the speaker of the Corporate Governance Course at the Georgia Tech College of Business. Park is an active member of the American Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Korean-American Bar Association of Georgia and the International Association of Korean Lawyers. He is fluent in both English and Korean.
