Tomas Vacek

Tomas Vacek is managing director and chief investment officer (CIO) of Fund Genesis Limited. Fund Genesis, a placement agent licensed with the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in Hong Kong, helps Asian companies and investors with their overseas transactions.

As a broker-dealer with Fund Genesis, Vacek helps Asian investors with cross-border deals and investment opportunities in U.S. and European real estate, equity, and debt. Vacek focuses on overseas transactions in capital raising, private placements, and acquisitions, both through leading real estate fund managers and through direct investments in real estate assets and developments.

Before joining Fund Genesis in 2015, Vacek was part of the investment team at Silver Lake Partners, a New York-based private equity fund with $39 billion in committed capital focused on technology investments. Previously, he worked at Goldman Sachs for three years, first as a trader in equity derivatives and later as an analyst in healthcare investment banking.

Vacek earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in economics in 2010 at Stanford University in California, where he was awarded Phi Beta Kappa. Vacek wrote his honors thesis on inaccuracies in the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) during the financial crisis.
