William Mok is a real estate attorney with Beijing Dacheng Law Offices LLP (Shanghai). Mok, who has practiced law since 1998, has experience in real estate and construction law, working for international and local law firms.

A partner with Dentons law firm, Mok is director of the construction and real estate department of Dentons’ Shanghai offices. He is also leader of the China region of Dentons’ global real estate group.

Mok specializes in outbound investor representation, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and due diligence analysis. His real estate practice focuses on residential, hotel and hospitality, office, industrial, and student housing.

Mok has advised numerous international corporate clients and private enterprises on transactions involving residential, commercial, and industrial real estate projects in China. He has experience with initial public offerings (IPO), bond issuance, real estate investment trusts (REIT), and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS). Mok has also been involved in several venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) investments in new and renewable energy and technology, media, and telecom (TMT). He is also a member of firm’s dispute resolution team, helping to resolve disputes arising from construction, real estate, debt collection, and enforcement.

Mok earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree at East China University of Political Science and Law in Shanghai, 1998, and he earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree at the University of Manchester in England, 2001. Mok earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in management at the University of Lancaster in England, 2002. He earned an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) at Fudan University in Shanghai, 2010.

Mok is licensed to practice law in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). He speaks English and Mandarin.
