Can I stay in Greece while waiting for my residency permit to be processed?

I just submitted my Golden Visa application through property purchase. Is there any way that I could stay in Greece while the application is being processed? I prefer not to leave the country and apply for a different kind of visa.

If your application has been properly and with all the necessary documents in order, submitted by your lawyer, you should have already delivered the related temporary residence permit, called as blue card, which is valid up to year and gives you the right to stay legally in Greece or travel between your home country and Greece only. Your permanent residence permit is estimated to be issued within two month's period, as per law provisions.

If your application is rejected, then apply for a different kind of visa.

If you have already submitted a Golden Visa application, you receive the blue paper, which allows you to stay in Greece until a resident permit is issued.

If the application has been fully submitted by your lawyer, you should have in your hand a document, the so-called blue paper, which allows you to stay until the final permit and no more than one year.

Please be aware that the duration of staying depends on the visa entrance duration. When you proceed with the application and receive a temporary certificate, you may stay in Greece until a permanent Golden Visa is issued.
