How can I change employers and type of employment contract with the D3 resident permit_

I've lived in Portugal for three and half years, holding a D3 residence permit since the beginning. I must change employers in a few months (Feb 25), and my contract will also change. Currently, I have a contract with an unspecified duration, and the future employer has given me some options to be a contractor in their homeland country or in Portugal. I would like to understand if these two options are possible with my current residence permit.
