Japan does not have a visa for individuals without a contract with an organization in Japan or being dispatched by an overseas organization. An individual with exceptional talent may apply for a Highly Skilled Professional status, which still requires a contract in the country. The gamer would be entitled to an Entertainer visa when he or she participates in a competition or an Engineer type visa if the job requires knowledge of information technology, but still needs to have a contract in Japan and a bachelor's degree.
