Please allow me to clarify the following: The right to work from Greece for your foreign employer as a tourist with a visa waiver is something legal and you have the right to do so. The Greek Digital Nomad Visa is a permanent residence permit of Greece, of 2 years duration, if the application will be submitted in Greece, with the right to renew. This residence permit entitles to permanently reside in Greece, provide your services to your foreign employer or as a freelancer to your foreign clients remotely and move without a hindrance throughout the Schengen area. In conclusion, the digital nomad visa in Greece is the perfect visa if you are looking to work remotely from Greece, under the obligation to spend six months per year (not continuously but cumulatively) in the country.

How can a non-EU tourist in Greece work remotely whilst on holiday/visiting family?
Is it permitted when visiting Greece as a tourist with a visa waiver to work remotely for some days whilst on holiday/visiting family? This would be fully staying within the 90/180 days rule, for a non-Greek company with no presence in Greece, not working for any Greek clients, and with a double tax treaty in place. I understand in some countries this is absolutely fine and in others this is illegal, but I’m unsure of the rule for Greece. Or would doing so require a Digital Nomad visa? Can such a visa be used for visiting 2-3 times per year for 2-3 weeks at a time?

During your 90 days visa stay you can work remotely if your work is abroad. This is the meaning of digital nomad. Staying in Greece and working remotely abroad.
