I am of Afghani descent, but I’ve been a resident of Germany for the past three years. I want my family to be able to visit me regularly in Germany so we’re contemplating a golden passport, but not sure if us being Afghani would be an obstacle in the process. Can we apply in Antigua? What does the screening process look like?
Persons with Afghan nationality can only apply for Antigua & Barbuda citizenship if they have been residing outside of their country or outside of any blacklisted country for the past 10 years. Because you have only been residing outside of Afghanistan for 3 years, you do not qualify. We can perhaps recommend another program if you are interested in such that allows Afghan nationals to apply.
Afghani citizens can apply in Antigua and Barbuda and we have processed many families as licensed agents. The screening process is thorough and will require full disclosure of personal information including the applicants’ source of income and wealth.
