You can apply for the EU Blue Card in the visa procedure if you can present a binding job offer. In Germany, the EU Blue Card has been the central residence title for academic professionals from abroad since Aug. 1, 2012. The applicant must provide proof of a completed university degree as well as minimum gross salary limit of 56,800 euros. In so-called shortage occupations, in which there is a high number of unfilled positions in Germany, the lower salary limit is 44,304 euros. This applies, for example, to doctors and engineers, but also to natural scientists, mathematicians and IT specialists.
