Companies of foreign interests must meet a number of criteria in order to be eligible for employment by third country nationals in Cyprus: the majority of the company’s shares must be owned by third country shareholders. In the case where companies are the shareholders, their ultimate beneficial owners should be declared. The ultimate beneficial owner must invest at least 200,000 euros in Cyprus for the purpose of operating the company. There must also be an establishment/operation of independent offices in Cyprus, separate from any private housing or other office, except in cases of business co-habitation. There is a also the Startup Visa scheme that will be in place for a two-year period from 2021 until 2023.
