You don’t need previous experience in reforestation projects to qualify for this visa. There aren’t any special criteria that you should have to worry about, as it’s an investment visa. The minimum investment is $100,000 that grants a temporary visa for two years; after that, you can apply for a permanent residency visa.

How can foreign investors qualify for the Panama Reforestation Visa?
I’m an investor from the Middle East and I care deeply about climate change. Would I need previous experience in reforestation projects to qualify for this visa? Are there any special criteria that I would have to worry about?

Permanent Residency under the Panama Forestry Visa can be easily attained by investing a minimum of $100,000 in any locally approved forestry project. There are no conditions or restrictions as long as the investment is made and a clean police report is provided.

In order to apply under the Reforestation residency program, $100,000 would suffice; no previous experience is required given that both, the investment and application process are handled by professionals involved. This residency program grants firstly a two-year permit, which may later be upgraded to a permanent one; however, if the applicant invests $350,000 instead, permanency will be granted with the first application.
