How can I apply for Japanese citizenship?

I finished college in Tokyo and found a job in a local company. This year I obtained permanent residency of Japan since I have been working in Japan for five years. What is the next step? How can I apply for Japanese citizenship? Do I need to renounce the citizenship of my country of origin?

You are entitled to an application for a Japanese nationality since you fulfilled the basic requirement of a 5-year stay. In addition, Japanese language proficiency, upright conduct, job and income will be examined. You need to renounce your original citizenship as well.
