How can I apply to renew my Greek blue card?

My Greek blue card is about to expire, while my Golden Visa application is still pending. I assume that the prospects of getting my case approved before the expiration date of my blue card are dim due to the COVID-19 situation. How can I apply to extend the validity of the blue card?

For the time being, all Immigration offices are closed and do not accept appointments either for new applications of for renewal. All blue cards that expire will be valid automatically until Dec. 31, 2020, according to the new legislation.

In order to apply for the renewal of the Greek blue paper, you shall submit the following documents in the immigration office: a copy of your passport, you blue paper, two photos and the Power of Attorney.

Given the fact that the decentralized Immigration Authorities are not open, you could ask your lawyer or check your residence status through http://pf.emigrants.ypes.gr. In any case, the temporary residence cards’ expiry dates were postponed up to Dec. 31, 2020 due to the current circumstances.

Please be aware that the blue temporary card will expire when the Golden visa is issued and no other action is needed.
