How can I buy family property in Spain for a golden visa?

My family on my great grand mother's side is Spanish and they live in Spain. We have kept in contact until today, but I haven't been able to obtain citizenship because my grandfather was born in Colombia, and he never applied for it. But I am considering buying a family property in Malaga and applying for the golden visa that way. Would this still be considered an investment in a property?
