I understand that applicants of the Malta individual investor program must first fulfill the 12-month physical presence requirement before being granted citizenship. However, what type of visas/resident permits will the investors and their families be holding during this period of time? Will such visas/permits be issued automatically once an application is submitted or approved, or do investors need to apply separately?
The first stage of application is submitting documents for the residence permit. You will receive a residence card in one to two weeks after the submission of the required documents. The card is valid for 1.5 years. You will be able to stay in Malta without any restrictions and visit any Schengen countries.
