As a Golden Visa holder / applicant, you can ask for your stepson’s regrouping with you and your wife, provided your stepson is a minor who is fully dependent on either you or your wife. Should your stepson not be a minor, not only will he have to be economically dependent on you and / or your wife, but also must be single and a full-time student.

How does Portugal identify dependents for its Golden Visa?
Can my stepson be included in the visa even though I am not his legal guardian? His mother, my wife, is the guardian. So, he is her dependent and she's my dependent - how does this work?

The stepson can only be included if you have a court order stating that he is under your custody and you have full rights. Otherwise he will not be eligible because there are no legal documents to prove such authorization and rights.

Stepchildren can also be reunited as long as they are minors or incapacitated children dependent on one of the spouses. If they are not minors, they must be dependent on the couple or one of the spouses, be single and studying.
