How does the Portuguese golden visa affect my chances of obtaining citizenship?

I’m looking into the different investor visas in Europe, and I wish to know if the Portugal program would allow me to continue doing business and make me eligible to apply for citizenship quicker. How does it compare, in this sense, to other Portuguese visas?

An individual who has lived in Portugal as a legal resident for a minimum of five years can apply for citizenship, this is usually the case of the golden visa holders. Lately, a high volume of applications to the Portuguese Golden Visa program has been leading to longer processing times.

All immigration programs in Portugal that grant a residence permit allow the applicant to apply for citizenship after 5 years counting from the first residence card. Due to the huge demand, Golden Visa residence cards suffer from a delay in terms of processing when compared with other programs.
