One of the possible investments you can perform in order to obtain the Golden Visa is: Transferring an amount equal to or greater than 250 thousand euros for artistic production activities or the preservation of Portuguese cultural heritage. However, I would like to point out that these investments cannot be made in the form of a pledge, and applicants are required to make specific, tangible investments.

How does the Portuguese golden visa program work with pledges?
If I pledge a significant amount to be given to art or cultural institutions, not right away but over a few years, would I qualify to apply for the golden visa?

The Portuguese golden visa program does not allow pledges to fulfill the requirement of investment. At the moment, for the application for the Golden Visa, the investor has to make proof of the transfer of capital to the Portuguese cultural institution in total, being €250.000,00 or €200.000,00 if the cultural institution is located in a low density area.

Regardless of the Golden Visa option of investment, the investment is only eligible when it is fully done and has no charges or encumbrances, meaning that the amounts must be delivered to the counterparty use.
