How is dual nationality treated by Portuguese authorities in terms of golden visa?
I’m half Russian half Lebanese, holding both nationalities, and interested in applying for the Portuguese golden visa but wondering if I would be allowed to given my Russian nationality. I intend to apply with the Lebanese one, would that make me eligible?

Portugal allows dual and multiple citizenship. That being said, you will not face any problem getting Portuguese citizenship as a Russian/Lebanese citizen.

Dual citizenship is accepted in Portugal. In terms of residency applications, there are no restrictions to certain citizenships, but naturally, Russian-connected applicants will be subjected to deep compliance.

The Golden Visa application can be submitted with one passport. In February 2022, the government instructed SEF to suspend Golden Visa applications submitted by Russian citizens, until new indications. The instructions were verbal, as reported by Portuguese newspapers, therefore we have no basis to assess the specific applicable conditions of the measures in force.
