How long do I need to reside in Latvia after the investment to become a permanent resident?

How many months per year do I need to live in Latvia to get a permanent residency after getting the golden visa? Can I travel back and forth freely or are there restrictions?

According to the law, there can be a total absence of one year during five years to qualify for PR; however, there are exceptions. Often residents have jobs or companies abroad, which can justify a longer absence. But in general, the majority of the year the person wishing to eventually get PR should reside in Latvia.
