If Cyprus successfully joins the Schengen area, will permanent residents be able to enjoy the benefits?

I obtained Cypriot permanent residency through its investment immigration program several months ago. I heard that Cyprus has submitted its application of joining the Schengen area. If Cyprus becomes a Schengen country, will permanent residents of Cyprus be able to enjoy the benefits?
