Grenada still has a valid E-2 visa treaty with the United States, however, the parameters of acceptance have changed to require a 3-year period of domicile. The word “domicile" is not legally defined under Grenada law and so we are currently working on formulating a legally approved definition that clearly lays out what it means and how it would be applied in this situation. Once this has been accepted by the US authorities, we would be in a better position to advise clients on the route to E-2, but I would certainly recommend people continue with the pursuit of an application as this new law affects not just Grenada but Turkey, Montenegro and Portugal, and so a solution will be forthcoming.
