I want to move to Portugal for work, so I’m thinking about applying for a job seeker visa in Portugal. I already looked up the required documents, but was just wondering, is it worth it to apply for this visa? I’d still need to find a company to sponsor me and apply for a work permit, and it doesn’t seem like many companies hire non-EU citizens on this visa. What are my chances? Is there a better option for a foreign master’s degree holder to work in Portugal?
Since you are a legal resident in France and you want to relocate to Portugal in order to work, I would suggest you apply for a jobseeker visa to Portugal. That visa gives you the right to come to Portugal so you can find a job and establish your legal residence here.
Job seeker visa is the most adequate one for applicants willing to come to Portugal for work but without a job offer at the moment of the application.
