The Portuguese Government is still analyzing what will be the concrete ending date of the NHR program, being under consideration a transitional period. Worst case scenario it shall end on 31.12.2023 with the following exemptions: those ones who, on the date of entry into force of the new law, are already registered as non-habitual residents in the Tax Authority; those ones who met the conditions for registration as non-habitual residents on December 31, 2023, as well as holders of a residence visa valid on that date.
