The temporary stay visa is intended to allow entry and stay in Portugal for a period of less than one year for medical treatment in official or officially recognized health facilities; the transfer of national citizens from States of the World Trade Organization, within the scope of the provision of services or professional training in Portugal; carrying out in Portugal an independent professional activity; carrying out in Portugal a scientific research activity in research centers, a teaching activity in a higher education institution or a highly qualified activity; carrying out in Portugal an amateur sports activity, certified by the relevant federation, provided that the sports club or association is responsible for the accommodation and health care; accompanying a family member subject to medical treatment; seasonal work for more than ninety days; attendance of a course in an educational or vocational training institution; and remaining in Portugal for periods of more than three months, in exceptional and duly substantiated cases, namely for study program attendance at an educational institution, student exchange, unpaid professional internship or voluntary service lasting for one year or less, or for the purposes of complying with international commitments within the scope of the World Trade Organization and those arising from international conventions and agreements to which Portugal is a party, within the freedom to provide services. The temporary stay visa is granted for the duration of the stay and is valid for multiple entries in Portugal.

We think the Portugal residency program is the best option suited to your requirement. The Portugal residency program can lead to EU citizenship faster than any other program and allows for more flexibility of movement than any of the other countries. The Golden Visa program was launched seven years ago with a minimum investment requirement in real estate of 500,000 euros. Two years ago, the government launched the reduced cost option of 350,000 euros that only certain properties that are approved qualify for. The visa can be renewed every two years after the first year, provided that the primary applicant and all dependents spend a minimum of seven days per year in the country. After the fifth year, it is possible to apply for Portuguese citizenship. EU passport holders have the right to live, travel, work or study in any EU country. After obtaining citizenship, it would be possible to sell your investment without affecting your citizenship status.
