What are the advantages for American investors to get RCBI in Malta?

Would American investors get any tax incentives if they opt for RCBI in Malta? Would they have to renounce their American citizenship to get the full benefits of having a European passport?

There are a number of benefits to holding the Maltese citizenship, such as visa free access to more than 180 countries; ability to live, work and establish business freely in any EU country, and access to state-the-of-art education and healthcare system. Malta recognizes dual and multiple citizenship, hence, there is no need to renounce other citizenships to become a Maltese national to enjoy full benefits of having a European passport or residency in Malta. If an American investor decides to renounce his U.S. citizenship when applying for Maltese passport for tax reasons, the person will be able to take full advantage of the Malta - U.S. visa-waver agreement and continue to access the U.S. easily. Citizenship is not a connecting factor for taxation in Malta, only residence and domiciles are. Beneficiaries of the Maltese residency or citizenship by investment will only be subject to tax in Malta on source (local income and capital gains) and remittance (foreign income remitted to Malta) basis. Therefore, foreign income not remitted to Malta will be outside the scope of Maltese taxation. Foreign capital gains will not be taxed irrelevant whether remitted to Malta or not. There are no special tax incentives in Malta for RCBI investors.

The American citizens will need to renounce their American citizenship if they would like to get the full benefits of having a European passport. Americans are taxable in the USA on their worldwide income.
