Would the investor visa program give Ukrainian applicants a quicker route to permanent residency in Italy for themselves and their families?
Ukrainians can obtain a temporary permit in Italy; it is not yet clear how and how long it can be extended. For sure, obtaining an investor visa and permit will give a predictable route and if they take residency in Italy and pay some taxes in Italy, they can apply for permanent residency.
At this stage, Ukrainians have been set swiftly on a direct path to obtain stay permits in Italy so I do not reckon the investor visa program would give them and their families a quicker route to permanent residency in Italy.
The investor visa program might be a route for Ukrainians to get permanent residency for themselves and their families, should they be willing to perform an investment according to the criteria set forth by the law. As of now, there are no particular provisions/waivers applicable to Ukrainian nationals in terms of investor visa requirements, hence, the standard procedure and requirements would apply.
