What does New Zealand’s fast-track to residency mean for investors?

How do I get it and what are the criteria? Does it matter what my native country is? When will this new program take effect?

New Zealand’s new ‘fast-track’ to residency program is for skilled migrants in certain occupations meeting specified conditions such as their role, industrial sector, and wages being paid, irrespective of their native country, to address the shortage of skilled workers. Therefore, the ‘fast-track’ to residency is not for investors seeking their permanent residency visas. However, investors who are not able to find appropriate workers will be able to employ overseas workers under ‘fast-track’ to residency subject to meeting the certain conditions regarding the role of the worker, sector employed and the wages paid.

The newly announced fast-track resident pathway is not relevant to investors, but highly skilled workers identified in the green list.
