What does the Portuguese golden visa law say about providing permanent residency for investors with two wives?

I'm an investor from a Gulf country and I have a large family, including two wives. Would my second spouse be able to get residency in Portugal like my other family members if I apply via the golden visa route?

The Portuguese state does not recognize marriages with multiple spouses. In fact, marriage with more than one person is a crime in Portugal. This means that if you wish to come and bring your family, through family reunification, you can only have one wife in the eyes of Portuguese law.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to apply for both wives of an applicant under the Portuguese Golden Visa program. As Portugal does not recognize polygamy marriages, should you decide to apply for a residence permit, it would only be possible to apply for one of your wives for family regrouping purposes.

You can only apply for one of your spouses to get residency in Portugal.
