What exactly is the process for investing in government bonds for the purpose of gaining residency in Malta?

Would investors need to do involve Maltese banks or can they use their international banks for this purpose? For example, I have the minimum investment amount required for the golden visa in my international account, what would I need to do next if I want to put my money in government bonds?

Investing in government bonds is no longer an option when applying for permanent residency by investment in Malta. Previously, both the Malta Individual Investor Programme (MIIP) and Malta Residency Visa Programme (MRVP) included Government Bonds as part of the investment requirements. However, these programmes are now ended. For permanent residence by investment, Malta currently offers: Citizenship for Exceptional Services by Direct Investment and the Malta Permanent Residence Programme.
