What is the estimated timeline of obtaining a Portuguese Golden Visa?
I’m seeking to apply for an EU golden visa and initially wanted to go for Portugal but I'm hearing that there are so many delays that sometimes it takes up to two years so I’m a bit hesitant. Has the situation gotten any better or should I be considering other options?

Unfortunately we cannot predict that at this time. Some applicants have been waiting for 2 years so their processes are finished.

Currently, the Golden Visa application process can take up to 2 years until being finalized. We expect the delays caused by the pandemic and SEF restructuration to be resolved and the timings to be reduced. However, if the applicant plans to effectively live in Portugal and relocate soon, we advise other options such as the D7 visa or Remote Workers visa, among others, depending on the specific circumstances of the applicant.
