What is the scope of retroactive screening on Cyprus permanent residents?
Recently I heard that Cyprus plans to conduct similar retroactive screening on permanent residents who obtained their status through the accelerated process, as on passport holders who participated in its citizenship by investment program. What is the scope of the screening this time?

The ministry of interior & council of ministers has discretionary power over all matters, including retroactive screening, on a case-to-case basis.

There has not been an announcement regarding the permanent residency scheme as to being further reviewed.

The Ministry of Interior can proceed with retroactive screening if they believe there are reasons for doing so. There is no announcement for doing that in general, however, it may be the case for some particular individual cases.
