What kind of returns can I expect on purchasing alternative investment funds in Cyprus for my citizenship-by-investment application?

I am looking to become a Cypriot citizen by buying real estate and investing in some funds. I am wondering, however, what the returns are and how long I need to have my money locked in bonds, securities or other assets. Are any of them fast, such as a year or two?

With respect to the financial returns on any of your investments, please obtain the advice of a financial advisor, as we do not give financial advice.

There are no prescribed returns. Under current market conditions, real estate yields are around 3 percent for residential and 4 percent for commercial properties. For bonds and other alternative investment funds, yields vary depending on the investment risk. The lock-up period is three years.

The return on investment is exclusive, depending on your investment profile and the how risky your portfolio will be. An investor needs to be willing to look at risk in comprehensive and flexible ways. For instance, diversification is an important part of risk. Holding a portfolio of investments that almost all have low risk and some high risk, the expected return will be different from a portfolio that is more aggressive and high risk. In essence you will set the parameters for the return you are willing to gain. The amount of investment must be kept for three years, then the portfolio can be altered.
