There is no residency scheme in the Netherlands for children to attend primary school. This would only be possible from secondary education, but under strict conditions. The fact that children are attending school or studying in the Netherlands does not create any right for parents to stay with them. Only dependent family members would be allowed to stay with the holder of a study visa. In order to live in the Netherlands as a family, you may need to seek residency on the basis of an economic purpose of stay, e.g. investment, work as a highly-skilled migrant, through self-employment, etc. This would also allow the children to receive education in the Netherlands.

What type of visa do I need to take care of my children while they are studying in the Netherlands?
My husband and I are planning to send our three kids to attend primary schools in the Netherlands. Since they are very young, I want to be able to live in the country to take care of them. What kind of visa or resident permit can I apply for? We are not EU or EEA citizens.
