Recently, many Chinese agents have started promoting the shares and bonds investment options for the Greek Golden Visa program. According to them, the bill authorizing those options has been approved by the Greek parliament. When can investors start investing through these new routes? We are expecting three election times, which means there might be a delay to the Greek parliament's approval to those investment options for foreigners aiming for a Golden Visa. Hopefully, from June to October, the matter should be settled and you would have your details concerning procedures to be followed.
During the summer, there should be some news.
The new Golden Visa type comes into force on July 1, 2019. The law stipulates that new Golden Visa provisions become effective three months after their promulgation in the Government Gazette, which happened on April 1, 2019. The law is Law 4605/2019 of 01.04.2019, article 42 thereof. As far as I know, no details have been published in any official site yet. Nevertheless, the relevant law will start being in force as from July 1, 2019, unless its coming into effect is postponed or abolished by means of a law amendment.
It hasn't been approved yet by the Greek parliament. It is supposed to be in force in July.
The new investment routes will enter into force on July 1, 2019. The law which provides for these new investment opportunities is the L. 4605/2019 (article 42).
