When can investors use credit cards for their Greek Golden Visa applications?

I heard that the Greek government is considering allowing the use of credit cards for the purpose of Golden Visa application-related transactions. When can investors expect this to be effective? I want to know because this will largely simplify my investment preparation process.

The use of credit and debit cards for all kinds of transactions related to the program in Greece is suggested as the most proper. The lawyers and possibly the real estate agency could also be paid with credit cards.

Golden Visa property purchases can now be paid for via credit or debit cards. A legal amendment to a bill for spurring investments was voted during the previous week in the Parliament. It includes articles on payments of real estate purchases conducted from Jan. 1, 2017 via credit or debit cards for the purposes of the Golden Visa program. The related law is under publishment to the Governmental Gazette in order to be in force.

An amendment to Law 4251/2014, which is effective as of 30-10-2019, provides that the agreed real estate price or rent may be paid in its entirety now through a point of sale (POS) installed by a service provider payment, operating in Greece, by debiting the bank's credit or debit card to a payment account of the payee held by a payment service provider, as defined in Article 4 of Law 4537/2018, which operates in Greece. The above methods of payment may also be conducted by a spouse and/or by blood or tuberculosis relatives up to the buyer's degree.
