Why does it take so long for my Greek Golden Visa application to be processed?

It has been 18 months since my Greek Golden Visa application was submitted, but I still haven’t got my resident permit. I’ve responded to every request for supplementary documents. Is this normal? Is there any backlog for the Golden Visa program?

More details need to be mentioned for your application for a Golden Greek Visa. In any case, it is probably soon enough that you get your residence permit.

Yes, it is normal. You have to be in contact with your lawyer.

Following the existing procedure, the authorities receiving the application will issue a confirmation that the application has been submitted, provided that all the necessary documentation has been submitted with the application. This confirmation is valid for one year and it constitutes an evidencing document until the residence permit is issued. The time required to process the application depends on the authority where it has been submitted, yet it may not exceed two months after all the necessary documents have reached the competent authorities. In your case, since you mention missing documents, I assume that the above timeframe did not operate as described. It would be better to seek advice from your lawyer about your application status.

Pleas be aware that due to the high volume of Golden Visa applications, there is a significant delay in the process, so you need to be patient.
