How can foreign investors take advantage of New Zealand’s recent changes to temporary work visas?

I’ve heard that New Zealand is allowing people who get paid below the median age to apply for 24-month long Essential Skills Work Visas. How can foreign entrepreneurs take advantage of this development? If I run a business in New Zealand, for example like a cleaning company or a catering business, would I be able to get my employees on these visas?

Please note that any recently announced changes only apply to people in the country. The New Zealand border is closed. There is no possibility for people to apply for anything other than exceptions. In any case, this does not apply to Entrepreneur visas and the business you mentioned have literally no chance of being approved. It has to be innovative or export-oriented business.

The Essential Skills work visa for workers who are paid below median wages is available without labor market testing for workers who are not changing employers or the region where they were working. If workers are being employed from other regions, the employer still needs to conduct a labor market testing and the worker must hold an appropriate visa in New Zealand. If you have a business in New Zealand, you can take the advantage of the new Essential Skills work visa if the worker meets these requirements.
