How can I expand my business to Italy and Spain with my Greek golden visa?

I have a golden visa from Greece. And I want to expand my business in Europe, starting with Spain and Italy. I will be the managing director of this company, and it will require extensive traveling and living in those countries a few months per year. Is it possible for me to relocate to Italy or Spain without losing my Greek visa? Would it be better to apply for a golden visa in those countries? Or should I apply for the digital nomad visa?

Your Greek visa gives you the right to travel to Italy and to Europe with no limitation. You can also open a business in Italy, and our company can assist you to do so. However, if you wish to establish your primary residency in Italy, and become an Italian resident, you need to apply an Italian national visa from the Italian consulate in Greece. As a preliminary note, we would like to inform you that to apply for a visa to enter Italy and reside here legally on a stable basis, generally speaking, you need to fulfill one of the following requirements: • or having a close family members already legally residing in Italy (children or spouse); • or being enrolled in an Italian educational institution; • or having a job offer from an Italian employer or client; • or being a corporate member of a company already established in Italy and active for at least three years; • or having an income of at least 26.000 euros per year, being in the position to work remotely and being highly qualified: holding a University Degree or having several years of qualifying professional experience (Digital Nomad Visa); • or having at least 50,000 euros to invest in an innovative business; • or having sufficient resources from non-working activities (at least 32,000 per year); • or investing at least, • or Euros 2,000,000 in securities issued by the Italian Government o or Euros 500,000 in shares or stocks of an already existing capital company incorporated and operating in Italy, o or Euros 250,000 into an already existing Italian innovative Start-up company o or Euros 1,000,000 into a philanthropic donation to support a public-interest project in specific fields.

You cannot use your Greek Golden visa to move to Italy. You do not need a visa to start a business in Italy but you will need an Italian visa if you want to move in the country.

If you hold a visa and residence permit for Greece you are entitled to travel to other Schengen countries for up to 90 days over 180 days. If you want to live and work in Italy you must apply for a visa and residence permit and you should assess with a Greek lawyer any possible impact on your Greek golden visa if you apply for a visa in another EU Member State.
