If the funds or assets you named in your Investor 1 visa application are worth more than the minimum you must invest in New Zealand, you may be able to use these additional funds you had nominated in the application. In certain unforeseen circumstances, some of the nominated funds can be replaced with additional funds where you can demonstrate the ownership, although such additional funds cannot replace all of the funds you nominated in your application. In certain circumstances, you may be able to transfer and invest funds you have borrowed by securing against the assets you named in your visa application if the value of your net assets exceeds the required investment amount.

How can I liquidate my investment for the New Zealand Investor 1 visa application?
Would there be penalties if I have to withdraw a small portion of my investment funds for the Investor 1 visa? I do not anticipate this to happen but I have to plan ahead in case of any emergency.

There is a specific period of time that the full amount invested needs to be kept in New Zealand. Therefore, you better consult with your adviser or with immigration as this may have major impacts.
